Get your story ideas out to visiting media!

Tourism Victoria has the opportunity to place select Victoria story ideas and images on USB drives and make them available to visiting media in the Olympic Torch Relay Media Centre on October 30, 2009. Approximately 60+ International Media will have access to the Media Centre. The Vancouver Olympic Committee (VANOC) is working hard to create the ‘greenest games ever’ and the Olympic Torch Relay is no exception, the Media centre will be paper-less.

How do you participate?

If you would like your story ideas to be included on the Tourism Victoria USB drives, please send the following to Director, Niche Market Development &210, Kristine George.

• Maximum one page PDF story idea
• Maximum of three high resolution images

All submissions are due by October 16, 2009.

Please note all items will be reviewed and approved by the VANOC Media Relations Team.

2010 Media Accreditation – Jul 29, 2009

The Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic Games has opened registration for media interested in covering the Olympic Torch Relay.
Registration will close on Friday, July 31. This registration period is the one and only opportunity for reporters, photographers and videographers to gain access to dedicated media positions along the torch relay route. Whether media are planning to cover the entire Olympic Torch Relay or simply one community, they are required to register in advance during this registration period.
Media can now access the application form and further information about the registration process, including detailed registration guidelines to assist with planning, at www.vancouver2010.com.

Celebrations, events and planning for the Greater Victoria region are being coordinated by the Victoria Olympic Torch Relay Task Force, under the auspices of the Greater Victoria Spirit Committee Society, a volunteer-based organization supported by the City of Victoria and member organizations from throughout the region.
