2009 Bike to Work Week – Jun 3, 2009

A small but dedicated team of 10 Tourism Victoria staff participated in the 2009 Bike to Work Week.  Four of the 10 were first time cyclists; and the team cycled a total of 109 kilometers one way May 11 to May 17. 

Bike to Work Week permitted teams to factor in the total number of people using alternative transportation methods, i.e. transit and walking.  19 Tourism Victoria staff declared they were using one of these methods.  According to the 2009 Bike to Work Week website, 623 teams registered and 6,756 cyclists participated this year.
